I had an issue trying to activate from the app on my phone so I just went to the website, logged into my account, and did it there.I think people get excited and are like YEAH I CAN DO THIS RIGHT NOW but the eSim seems to be a reason why people have problems. I waited the 2 days for the physical one to arrive by mail. It just didn't seem reliable and reading posts on this subreddit let me know that, LOL. Then when I was confident, I did a 3 month plan to be safe. I asked about coverage from current users in my local subreddit. This is what I did, and I had minimal issues. I switched from Verizon (Galaxy S10) 9ish months ago and haven't looked back.Ī lot of complaints I see are from people who didn't do the trial and get the eSim and try to set it up from their device. So far I've been happy with Mint, but I keep my expectations low I need a low minute plan like one with only a few hundred minutes and data so I will be porting one of my numbers back to Redpocket after my 3 month promo ends. They don't have shorter plans than 3 months. ![]() My only gripes are their lack of variety of plans and the time it takes getting to customer service. Their sales depth was able to answer my purchasing questions before I ported in. The hotspot is very good when I traveled without having to do anything on my end. The signal is strong everywhere I go even when I travel. I also like that I can pay a year in advance. I like that 2FA is available, didn't have that on Redpocket. So far I have been able to do everything without contacting support. It actually only took one second for the port lol. The port process was smooth and easy and exceeding my expectations. I've only been a customer for 3 weeks having ported 2 numbers from Redpocket mobile and I'm happy with the service so far. My recommendation would still be to try Mint, but under no circumstances should you be lured into signing up for more than 3 months at a time! My SIM card for US Mobile (a Verizon reseller) arrives tomorrow and then I’m switching (even though I’ll lose 10 months of service from Mint as I’m only on month 2 of the 12 pre-paid months – yes, the Mint technical support is that bad). Mint support is totally helpless to fix any sort of network issue – all they can do is open a ticket with T-Mobile and wait, and wait. In my case, I switched from a Pixel 6a to a Pixel 7a (and the day after that my plan also rolled over to a new month) and since then my data speed has been unusable. When it works, it’s great, but when something happens that requires T-Mobile’s attention, that’s when there’s a big difference. I had been with them for 2 years and 2 months without any issues, until 2 weeks ago. I suspect many people will reply that they have been happy with Mint for quite some time.
